Christmas Stockings Anyone?

When I first started writing this post, it was at the beginning of November and I was so proud that I was going to get some Chistmas decor done early this year.  Yea, well now it's four days before Christmas and I just finished them!  lol!

I decided I wanted to make my own stockings this year because of all the good tutorials out there in blog world.  Well I actually decided this last year, bought the material, but ran out of time!  Better late than never right?
I decided THIS tutorial from Fabricworm was my favorite.

First thing I did was print out the pattern from Fabricworm.  Then I cut out my inside and outside fabric.  I am using a heavier duck cloth material so I didn't bother with batting.
After getting them all sewn together, I decided I wanted to individualize them just a tad.

I put buttons on Cams, lace on mine, and flowers on Ashtyns.  I also added a card stock  letter for the finishing touch.  I am super happy with the way they turned out!

And of course, I can't have my camera out without one of my children wanting to be in the picture!  But that's totally fine with me!

Okay, let's go back to this cute advent calendar.  Every year, my friends get together to do a fun little Christmas party.  We always do a little gift exchange at the end and I was so excited to end up with this handmade calendar!  I scored big time!

Have you ever tried to make your own Christmas stockings?

  1. Hi Jana,
I love these stockings and the Chevron design of the fabric you choose. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays.
