How To Make Sidewalk Chalk Paint
The kids were stating to get really bored one day and wanted to go outside. We already blew bubbles and we didn't have anymore sidewalk chalk, so we decided to make our own sidewalk "paint". It was the easiest thing ever!
All you need is:
- corn starch
- food coloring
- cupcake tin
- foam brushes
I started off using 1 cup water and 1 cup corn starch and mixing together. I felt like this was still way too runny so I added an extra half cup of corn starch. The mixture was still pretty runny, but I decided to leave it. I then poured it into the cupcake tin and put a little bit of food coloring into each pocket. We decided to use this as a teaching experiment on colors and started mixing colors together to see what color we would get. Ashtyn was pretty excited when we made purple and orange!
We then went outside and enjoyed our paint and the sun! Not gonna lie though, the kids played with it for about 5 minutes before they decided they wanted to do something else!
And yes, I am the mom that allows her 2 year old to go outside with only a shirt and diaper. You pick your battles right?!?!
